Green Building with SIPs : The construction and operation of buildings has a significant impact on the environment. Buildings account for 39% of total U.S. energy consumption and 38% of carbon dioxide emissions. Green buildings use less energy, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and playing an important role in combating global climate change. Buildings also use a tremendous amount of natural resources to construct and operate. Constructing green buildings that use these resources more efficiently, while minimizing pollution that can harm renewable natural resources, is crucial to a sustainable future.Structural insulated panels (SIPs) are one of the most airtight and well insulated building systems available, making them an inherently green product. Samaritan Acts of New Orleans The Organization: The Samaritan Multi-services Centered on Living Foundation & Associates, Inc. (SMCL) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that was established to improve the quality of life of our veterans, those who are disabled or those who are economically disadvantaged in the New Orleans community and South Louisiana. As our founder and president, Julius Lee, would say, “we can to do a whole lot with just a little.” It is in that spirit, that we have been able to serve our community. LTL Compassiod Center ‘Testimony’ DISABLED VETERAN OWNER OF ALL VET COMPANY RESPONDS: The disabled Veteran owner of an all Veteran company emailed asking for me to call and discuss available help for the Veteran. He has short term and long term solutions to suggest to the homeless Veteran. Acting as intermediary to protect the homeless Veteran’s identity, I called him this afternoon! The man is a gem, one in a million, and a true supporter of disabled Veteran’s rights, right to work if they wish, and right to access all the programs for which they are qualified/eligible. A fountain of knowledge and ‘how to’, if I thought this man could handle the inundation I would list him as the very first resource any Veteran should go to in learning how to deal with the VA, claims, and government grant programs! However, he has need to be careful of his own health and should pick and choose which situation he becomes involved with. How to contact this disabled Veteran has been made known to the homeless Veteran along with my recommendation to discuss the issues with him and to hear him out before making decision.
